Halloween Village Update and a visitor for dad.

Well, the village is well under way and growing fast! Everyday I put some time into it and it is really coming along. Outside decorations will go up this weekend!

Happy Halloween!

After a weekend at Tamarack, dad & Sue came down to catch their plane. Sue had some errands to run and she dropped dad off at the office. Dad and I walked the property and looked at a few problems. Doug Bolen, our broker in Idaho, stopped by to say hello to dad, as you can see dad was all business. It was so nice that Doug stopped by to see dad. Dad was rethinking the visit all the way through dinner. I think it was a much needed visit, Thanks Doug!

One year ago...

It is amazing that it was only one year ago that Tex and I completed our adoption paperwork and submitted it to CASI. Who new our lives would change so fast.

Morning in the mountains.

We woke up Sunday and we all made our self some breakfast. It was a crisp fall morning. We watched some football.

Dad, Sue and I took a walk to the Townhouse and then to the house. We get through the chairlift to the townhouse.

Dad seemed very happy to see the progress of the townhouse. He looked it over very thoroughly.

I don't have and pictures of the house because my battery died on my camera. When we got home, dad and I worked on a 200 piece puzzle. This was a far cry from the one I saw Steve put together with him in the hospital right when he got back. That puzzle was only 6 pieces or so. When dad got tired of the puzzle he went of to the couch and went through a book that was on the table with Tristan.

I did not take Tristan with me on the walk because he was in the shower with Tex but when I got home Tristan and I had to try out his new backpack. He seemed to like it!

After lunch We all played poker. We used the checker pieces as chips. Hanna and I went all in and I luckily won that hand, after Hanna went out Sue sat in.

Headed to Tamarack

Dad and Sue got in last night. They got up this morning and went to visit Lisa and Mom. Before heading up to Tamarack Lisa, Tex, Hanna, Tristan, Dad, Sue and I went to have breakfast at Sherie's. Lisa took seeing dad for the first time pretty well. When I asked her she said that "it was still sinking in", mom on the other hand was hit pretty hard.

After breakfast we all headed up to Tamarack. It was a beautiful fall drive. the colors were starting to change and we saw a half a dozed hawks in Cascade "hunting" from the fence posts next to the field.

Upon arrival we all stopped at the lodge to have a drink. The day was perfect!

We were invited to prime rib dinner at Arling Station by Dennis and Shirley. It was so nice to see them again. Everyone is so happy to see dad and Sue doing well.

When we got back to the Chalet, Hanna took dad on at a game of checkers. They were both in deep thought. You would not believe how long this game took. Dad ultimately one but gave Hanna much credit for her attempt.

If you are wondering what the yellow things are? They are Splenda packets used to replace missing checker pieces...lol!

The Fulll Monty

I thought that would get your attention. Len and I went to see "The Full Monty" last Thursday in San Jose. I got lost and Len kept saying "I think you are going the wrong way". He was right. We made it to the theater just in time and had a great night out. We spent dinner with some of the kids on Saturday night in Mountain View.
Len continues to work hard at speech therapy and each day a few more words are clear. He and I also do physical therapy on the days we don't go to the medical center. We both have a full time job getting Len back to normal.
Physically, he is amazing. His gate is a little slower but he can keep up with me now on walks and always has a sense of humor about his situation.
We are taking our first trip on Friday to Boise to check out everything there. We will drive up to Tamarack and enjoy a few days in the mountains before heading back to CA on Tuesday.
Hope this finds you all well.
Our love and Aloha,
Sue and Len

Homeward bound...

Well, Monday morning we all headed home. Sheree, Johnnie, Christy, & Ike left a little before us. We wanted to make some tourist stops on the way home. The first was the fish hatchery.

This would be a very funny sign if it was not in the fish hatchery!

We saw BIG fish!

and pretty fish.

we saw crawdads.

This is Tristan and I next to a big tree!

We stopped a really cool Christmas Store.

look how cute the chimney was : )

We stopped at Sahalie Falls

Do you think they are having fun?

and Koosah Falls

It was such a beautiful hike!

We too the scenic bypass on 242. It was crazy, we hit the pass and it was all lava domes and lava fields.

This was a lookout that was built at the pass. It was very cool. Each "window" looks upon a peak, almost like a watch station.

It was all fun so far but we have a long road ahead of us. I wanted to stop in Sisters but my dear husband decided to drive all the way home. We left at 8 am and got home the following day at 1 am. Needless to say it was a long ride home with an 11 month old. I am glad we made all the stops though, they were worth every minute!

A day on the beach in Florence, Oregon

When we woke up Sheree saw some lady dressed in pink out on the beach stealing our shells so we all got dress and went for a walk down on the beach and looked for shells. We didn't find many shells but the walk was nice.

Haceta Light House

The Sea Lion Caves

No Sea Lions Today : (

Who is that little man driving that car?

After an afternoon of shopping, we ate dinner at the Waterfront Depot.

Ike got ousters...

Bottoms up!

Christy was happy to try them!

I think she liked them, what do you think?

Tristan was a bit restless so dad took him outside to play!

After dinner Ike, Christy, Johnnie & Sheree went to the beach to have a fire. Tex stayed at the house with Tristan because he was a bit fussy. I went down to share in the fun!

After a few cocktails we finally ran out of wood so we went back to the house, here is what we found!
