Just us!

A few weeks ago Tex asked me to check with Sue to see if the townhouse was available. He wanted to take me up to the winter festival in McCall. We came up Thursday night and just hung out for the night. Friday morning we got up and had breakfast, I made Tex breakfast in bed. After breakfast we got in the hot tub for a bit before hitting the mountain. Tristan was a trooper today! He had a blast on the hill! It was a beautiful day too. After about an hour and a half Tristan was ready to go. Tex took a couple more runs while I took Tristan to the truck and then they went into McCall. I on the other hand, headed up the mountain to get some quality skiing in. It was absolutely amazing!

So, I asked Tristan what the best part of his day was while we were on the chair lift... and he said, "you mommy". OMG my heart just melted! I love being a mom!

After a fun filled day of skiing, we headed into McCall for the opening ceremonies of the winter carnival and the fireworks that followed. We met Jerrod, Angela, and the kids there too. It was a great fireworks display!

After we got home we started up a fire and roasted some marshmallows. What an absolutely wonderful day! Thanks honey! I love you!

Stranded behind a mudslide...

Patti came to town to do some work and we found out that our offer was accepted on our townhouse at Tamarack. Patti had not seen the unit yet so we decided to head up to be present for the inspection. We headed up early Tuesday morning and our plan was to come home that afternoon but you will soon find out that was not the case.

Since the townhouse was in a short sale the home owners dues had not been paid, thus the snow has not been removed. Need less to say, it was getting a little deep.

After the inspection and some lunch with our agent we decided to head down the hill only to be stopped for 2 hours by a mudslide. It was crazy!

I got some live footage of the mudslide. It was immediately after this slide that they decided to close the road for the night. We headed back to Tamarack to try to find a place to stay for the night.

Patti was so sweet. She took me to dinner at The Mill in McCall. I was saying I needed a little vacation from my life and now I got it. We had a fabulous dinner, glass of wine and some quality time next to the beautiful fire.

If you have not been to The Mill in McCall it has a lot of really interesting things to look at. The restaurant itself is a log building with open ceilings inside. The rafters are lined with old beer taps. The have historical pictures and paraphernalia all over inside.

Cindy put us up at a place at Tamarack and she gave us this super cute "care package" It was so nice! We stayed the night and then headed out the next morning. Unfortunately, Hwy 55 did not open so we took the long route back to Boise around highway 95 through Council and Weiser. It was a long 2 days but we finally made it home!

Surprise for me???

My girls are so great! Sheree and Christy have had a Christmas Surprise planned for me for some time. We all got busy and/or sick around the holidays so we just planned the day. Patti was in town so she got to tag along and the day was super great! Sheree picked up Patti and I at the office and we headed down town. First stop was Mai Thai for lunch. I have only eaten here a couple of times mostly because I never now what to order. Sheree and I had a combo plate, Patti had curry, and Christy had summer rolls. It was delicious!

After lunch the girls took us to get pedicures at this fun place down town. Pedi and Cocktails anyone? It was great! Sheree bought Christy and I our own personal wine glasses, they were so cute! We also had to get a piece of cake to maximize our coupon at Mai Thai, so we cracked that out and shared it. The cake was sooooo good!

Thanks for a great surprise girls, and thanks for letting Patti tag along!

Family Dinner

Patti was in town to do some work so we took some time off to get together and have some dinner together. Mom and Lisa came over and we made taco salad. It was so yummy! Lisa spent some quality time with TJ in his Thomas tent. It was a great afternoon.
