3-Day Potty Training day 1.

Many of you know I am attempting the 3 day potty training method by Laura Jensen. Today was day one and it proved to be very challenging. Many people are asking 'why am I taking this approach"? Well, it is because when I do accomplish this feat, and I mean feat, look how far ahead of the game I will be. Those of you who know me know I am always ahead of the game!

We started out great. Made a big deal about getting rid of all the final diapers, each floor! Then the final diaper, the one on his bum. We stepped into the big boy pants and we were off. This method is all based on love, positive reinforcement and consistency. We had many accidents and by the end of the day mom was getting spent but I just remembered what I would get out of this when I complete it. By night fall Tristan was running to the potty, he hadn't gone in it yet but he was getting there.

Overnight he woke up wet. Tonight I will probably sleep in there to keep an eye on him.

Bye Bye diapers in the bedroom...

... by the kitchen...

...and in the basement!

...and finally, the one on my bum!

I am a big boy now!

Surprise Dani!

Ever since Dani moved out of town she and I never get any alone time. I had given her a gift certificate for her birthday to my nail girl, Shannon. Shannon told me that Dani was coming in to get a pedicure rather than a set of nails. I asked Shannon to let me know when Dani was coming in and I would surprise her by coming in at the same time to get a pedi, tonight was the night.

I decided to stop at the Maverick on the way to pick up some wine coolers. Sheree, Christy and I did this for Christmas and it was a blast! I new Dani could use some girl time! As I stopped at Maverick, on a Tuesday, I have not felt like such a teenager buying wine coolers in forever.

When I arrived at the Salon I loaded up my purse. I did not want to seem like a lush as I entered the salon. Dani had a friend there getting her hair done and Shannon was running a bit behind. Dani and I caught up while we were waiting. She was so surprised!

We headed back to the pedi room, Dani was getting gel toes. This is when they put gel over the toe nail, they last quit a bit longer. I was going to get a pedi but Dani's turned out so good I decided to get the gell too.

As Dani and I were getting our toes done, as well as getting a good buz on. I mentioned that I had not laughed this hard since the last time I was there. That was when I was there with Sheree and Christy at Christmas. I began to tell Dani the funny story that happened when we were there at Christmas.

**Christy and Sheree both like wine, so I made a special effort to call Patti and ask her what some good wines would be. Since I always drink the same thing I brought myself a bottle of Special Harvest Riesling and some diet Sierra Mist. I brought the girls some Cabarnay Sovenaun. As we were all settling in we poured our wine and began to relax. I kept tasting mine and could not figure out what was wrong with it other than it tasted like water. I told the girl and they did not believe me so they tasted it. They could not believe it either. We spent a good portion of our pedi trying to figure out how and why we ended up with a bottle of water. It was actually quit funny, you can only imagine!**

As I am telling Dani my story she begins to laugh hysterically! I am like what? Dani proceeds to tell me that her and Patti drank that bottle of wine while they were fixing our home after our remodel. We had gone to Atlanta to pick up Tristan and they stayed and put our house back together and got it ready for a baby. After a stressful day they decided to have some wine. While they were finishing the bottle they realized that this was the wine from our wedding that they had drank and panicked! They filled the bottle with water, re corked it and put it back in the cabinet thinking we would never open it. Dani & Patti swore that they would never tell.

I don't think i have ever laughed so hard in my life! This story would have never come up if I had not gone to surprise Dani while she got her pedicure!

Life is so great that we can share such great stories with our friends and family!

Julean's Birthday Visit

Sunday Eric wanted to see Julean for his birthday so he called us to arrange a visit. Jamie has been really reasonable in allowing us to see him even though Eric has not seen him that often. We had a very nice day. I was beautiful outside.

Saturday after the tsunami

Saturday we had intended to work on the garage. I gave Tex a gift certificate from Lowe's for Christmas to organize his stuff and we were finally going to get started. After the news of the Earthquake in Chile and the threat of the tsunami I was glue to the TV to make sure dad and Sue would be alright. The anticipation was heart wrenching. No destructive waves came in so we began to get to work.

Notice Garrett is working and Tex is reading the directions.

Look mom, Tex is holding the flashlight...(inside joke!)

The Formerlly Parklane Party

So I have been gone from Parklane for over 6 years now. After staying in touch with many of my friends that I met at Parklane I thought, how fun would it be to have a get together with everyone who was either fired or quit Parklane. Since I had been talking about it for years I thought it was about time.

Another one of my girlfriends, Sheree and I have been to a few functions where we had food from Kanak Attack. Kanak Attack is a Hawaiian restaurant, they have pulled pork, teryaki chicken, and many, many other dishes. I have always made the comment that I wanted to have them cater a party. So, I decided that this would be the party. As you saw from a previous blog Sheree and I went there for lunch and it was so good. It was so good that she called me at 615 the night of the party to see if the food had arrived yet! You gotta love her!

Many of our old friends came to catch up! Barry, Donna, Sandra, Anna, Angee, Chris, Marta, Amy, Jamie, Tammy, and myself. There were many spouses along for the ride. Some new and some old. Many more kids than the last time we met. There were a few that have moved on and were missed! Unfortunately my camera did not get a great group shot so I will have to wait for Angee to post hers so I can steel it.

"The Log"...

This story is so funny I could not hesitate in sharing it! Today, Tristan and I had a bath. As the daily ritual repeated it self, I wrapped up Tristan in the "monster" towel that Brittles got him for his birthday, sat him in my chair and let him watch a few cartoon while I got ready. As I was drying my hair Tristan came in and open the bathroom door. He then pointed at his little potty. Since we are just getting ready to do the three day potty training next weekend I thought I would ask him if he had to go potty. Tristan walked into the other room and pointed at the floor. Much to my surprise, there lay a Tristan size poop. I could not believe it. I know it sounds gross but it was so damn funny I could not quit laughing! One of the things the potty book says is not to get upset with him so I went and grabbed some TP and said let's put the poop in the potty, reassuring him that he did nothing wrong. He ran behind Tex's chair. I kept asking him if he wanted to flush his poop. He would not come out. So I went over to tell him it was ok and there was the rest of the poop. Thank God it was not runny!

P.S. I purposefully did not take pictures for all of you but I am sure you could imagine it!
