What a day!

Today was one of the best days I have had in a long time! Last night Sheree invited me to go skiing on one of her free passes. Since the weather was cruddy yesterday and the time changed last night we kind of backed out of going. I did, however, tell Sheree that I would call her in the morning if it looked amazing.

Tristan woke up about 7 this morning and I could not quit looking at the mountain so I called Sheree. I said, Sheree, let's go. Oh we won't make it back in time for practice. I agreed and we both decided not to go. I kept looking at the mountain. It was as if it was calling me. I asked Tex if he wanted to go skiing? He said no. I said, do you care if I go? He said no, he didn't care. So, I rounded up my things and I was off!

When I arrived at Bogus I realized I had not even skied on my new skis since my old pair was stolen. That was three winters ago. The price tag was still on them. The next thing that I realized was that I was so excited to go skiing today that when I pulled out my poles I realized that I grabbed two different poles, one of the kids and one of mine. Yes dad, I skied with it too : ) The rest of the day on the hill speaks for itself, just look at the pictures!

Christy, here is your foot shot! My friend Christy loves to take pictures of feet, so this one is for her!

Hello Boise!

My pole!

Need I say more?

Shoes of the day!
Boots in the morning...
Cleats in the afternoon...
it does not get any better!

I had forgotten how easy it was to get up to Bogus, ski a couple of hours and come back to Boise for a great afternoon! We have not had passes since we started going up to Tamarack and I had just forgotten how easy and fun it was! Well, next year we will be skiing. We got our passes again and today I went to Play It Again Sports and picked up Tristan some skis. We are going to try to take him this week.

Once I got home and got the car cleaned out. Tristan and I went for a walk and stopped at the park. There were a couple other kids there with their dad. Tristan had fun playing with the little boy. On the way home he wanted to pull the wagon and he did, all the way home.

What a great day!

3 Day Potty Training Success Rate...

Many of you have called to see what the final outcome was of the 3 day potty training program which I just completed. Well, this is what I can say... Tristan woke up dry this morning after 9 hours of sleep. He pee peed 5 times throughout the day with only one accident which was #2 and dad was not paying attention to the signs so in my book. 100% success! YEA TJ!

3 Day Patty Training Day 3

Today is starting out much better that yesterday. Tristan woke up about 330 am. I tried to see if he needed to go potty but to no avail. We went back to bed and woke up at 730 dry as a bone! Yea TJ! I new he was going to need the potty so we hung around the bathroom in our room. He has started to walk in there on his own. I asked him if he needed to go potty and he kept saying no but I new he was wrong. I happened to have a sucker in my pocket from yesterday and as I began to unwrap it he sat on the potty, right in front of Tex and I and peed! It was so dang cute. I have now generated a "Surprise Bag", (a tip I saw on line), and I have filled it with stickers, fruit snacks, flash cards, games, and of course Hot Wheels. Every time he pee pee's in the potty he gets to pick one item from the bag. Today's score 2 for 4. What progress! I am excited to see what the rest of the day brings!

We decided to make Rice Krispy Treats. I have had the ingredients for some time and just have not had the time to make them so today was the day.

Tristan was eating the ingredients.

Tristan was such a big help!

3 Day Patty Training Day 2

Day 2 came with much frustration! We ended last night with some hope, when I asked if he had to go to the potty he at least ran to the bathroom. Today it is like starting from square one, accident, accident, accident. Then about 3 pm just after Garrett got home, it happened, Tristan peed in the potty! I was so excited! I screamed, I yelled, I called for Garrett. We made a huge big deal out of it so Tristan got excited too! After we washed up we called daddy, who was in the office and told Grandma! It was great! Then after one great success there were many accidents. As you can imagine, by the end of the evening I am spent. Last night I did not go in and sleep next to Tristan. He woke up very wet, so tonight I am sleeping with him.

Tristan loves to play in my clothes hamper and every time he does I think about when I was a kid, I was playing bunny rabbit in a clothes hamper, I slipped and cracked my head open on the coffee table. It bled like crazy and they threw me in a black bean bag that filled up with blood. It is such a vivid memory.

3-Day Potty Training day 1.

Many of you know I am attempting the 3 day potty training method by Laura Jensen. Today was day one and it proved to be very challenging. Many people are asking 'why am I taking this approach"? Well, it is because when I do accomplish this feat, and I mean feat, look how far ahead of the game I will be. Those of you who know me know I am always ahead of the game!

We started out great. Made a big deal about getting rid of all the final diapers, each floor! Then the final diaper, the one on his bum. We stepped into the big boy pants and we were off. This method is all based on love, positive reinforcement and consistency. We had many accidents and by the end of the day mom was getting spent but I just remembered what I would get out of this when I complete it. By night fall Tristan was running to the potty, he hadn't gone in it yet but he was getting there.

Overnight he woke up wet. Tonight I will probably sleep in there to keep an eye on him.

Bye Bye diapers in the bedroom...

... by the kitchen...

...and in the basement!

...and finally, the one on my bum!

I am a big boy now!

Surprise Dani!

Ever since Dani moved out of town she and I never get any alone time. I had given her a gift certificate for her birthday to my nail girl, Shannon. Shannon told me that Dani was coming in to get a pedicure rather than a set of nails. I asked Shannon to let me know when Dani was coming in and I would surprise her by coming in at the same time to get a pedi, tonight was the night.

I decided to stop at the Maverick on the way to pick up some wine coolers. Sheree, Christy and I did this for Christmas and it was a blast! I new Dani could use some girl time! As I stopped at Maverick, on a Tuesday, I have not felt like such a teenager buying wine coolers in forever.

When I arrived at the Salon I loaded up my purse. I did not want to seem like a lush as I entered the salon. Dani had a friend there getting her hair done and Shannon was running a bit behind. Dani and I caught up while we were waiting. She was so surprised!

We headed back to the pedi room, Dani was getting gel toes. This is when they put gel over the toe nail, they last quit a bit longer. I was going to get a pedi but Dani's turned out so good I decided to get the gell too.

As Dani and I were getting our toes done, as well as getting a good buz on. I mentioned that I had not laughed this hard since the last time I was there. That was when I was there with Sheree and Christy at Christmas. I began to tell Dani the funny story that happened when we were there at Christmas.

**Christy and Sheree both like wine, so I made a special effort to call Patti and ask her what some good wines would be. Since I always drink the same thing I brought myself a bottle of Special Harvest Riesling and some diet Sierra Mist. I brought the girls some Cabarnay Sovenaun. As we were all settling in we poured our wine and began to relax. I kept tasting mine and could not figure out what was wrong with it other than it tasted like water. I told the girl and they did not believe me so they tasted it. They could not believe it either. We spent a good portion of our pedi trying to figure out how and why we ended up with a bottle of water. It was actually quit funny, you can only imagine!**

As I am telling Dani my story she begins to laugh hysterically! I am like what? Dani proceeds to tell me that her and Patti drank that bottle of wine while they were fixing our home after our remodel. We had gone to Atlanta to pick up Tristan and they stayed and put our house back together and got it ready for a baby. After a stressful day they decided to have some wine. While they were finishing the bottle they realized that this was the wine from our wedding that they had drank and panicked! They filled the bottle with water, re corked it and put it back in the cabinet thinking we would never open it. Dani & Patti swore that they would never tell.

I don't think i have ever laughed so hard in my life! This story would have never come up if I had not gone to surprise Dani while she got her pedicure!

Life is so great that we can share such great stories with our friends and family!

The cooler...

Cute toes!
