A note from Lynette
"We strolled the rim in Firostefani and had another fabulous Greek Taverna meal with a stunning view from the top of the world. Grilled meats served on giant skewers, sea bream, Santorini salad, the famous tomato fritters, and more. Not going hungry!"
Today was our day to shop in Kamari. We strolled the beach front and the side streets. I found a beautiful coaster with the vibrant blue roofs for myself which was signed my the artist. Of course lots of little treasures for my friends. I found a special little treat for Shivani as I usually do for house sitting for me <3
We returned to the hotel for a little pool time to cool off, and can I say the weather has been perfect!
Later in the afternoon we headed to the city of Firostefani for our farewell dinner. We had some free time to shop and we decided to take an adventure to get Tristan ears pierced. He has wanted to for some time but Cole Valley had a rule against it. They finally lifted that rule so why not do it in Greece. It was so fun that everyone joined in with us. The first shop the piercer was out of town so it was off to the second. They were there and waiting for us. Special thank to Jules and Lynette for navigating for us! T was up first and then I decided to get my rook pierced. I have wanted to do it for some time but was a little scared. Nothing like the courage of others! Yes it hurt! I left those pictures out.
On our way back to Firostefani we were blessed to see the donkeys!
Donkeys have historically been a vital means of transportation in Santorini, particularly for traversing the island's steep paths and numerous steps. They were used to carry goods and people, especially before the advent of motorized vehicles. Now they are are also used by tourist to carry them up the steep path.
Our walk back to the restaurant, Mama Thira, provided spectacular views along the cliffs. We stopped for many scenic pleasures.
Our farewell dinner consisted of Sanotini salad, (which adds lettuce to the traditional Greek Salad), tomato fritters, Sea Beam, and a meat skewer. Followed up by a drunken chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream.
