A Memorial Day run and Stage 4 of The Exergy Tour

I was so excited. I was able to get one loop completed before watching the first of 3 loops.

Peloton:
A peloton is the "bunch", the "field" or the "pack" of cyclists that consists of the main group of cyclists in a race. The word peloton is drawn from French where it means "ball" or, more loosely, platoon.
The "bunching up" of the riders to form the peloton is a tactic designed to save energy on a ride while remaining competitive. The riders at the front of the peloton "break the air" on the ride, and those following "draft" behind them saving as much as 40% of the "energy cost" through a given stretch of riding. A link is provided.

The Peloton from the ridge.
I love how all of the support cars are right behind them.

Facebook Post:

"Sitting on top of Seaman's Gulch grasses blowing in the cool breezes wild flowers gazing in the sun still damp from the recent rain awaiting the arrival of lap 2. Of stage 4 of The Exergy Tour. Thank you to all of our military past and present for allowing me this Freedom!"

Back to back parties... Happy Birthday Mags

Once we were home from the sleep over, we had just enough time to wrap Maggie's gift and headed to the Nampa Rollerdome. This was like a throw back to the 80's & 90's. I loved it!

We got off to a bit of a rocky start but Tristan did amazing!

Loved these clip on skates! They were great!

TJ and the birthday girl!

Time to party in the party room!
TJ was so cute, he won this tiger in a "claw" machine there and gave it to Maggie before we left.
 It was so cute!

Time to limbo!

... and once again we are out

Exergy Tour 2012

We stopped and picked up some dinner for the boys then headed down to the Train Depot.

Looking for fish....

Kristin Armstrong

The Crash.

Kristin passing us after the crash.
Super fun, family night. Wish it could have ended without the crash. Super sad for Kristin, she was supposed to do so well.

KTVB reported the following:

BOISE -- The husband of Olympic champion Kristin Armstrong has confirmed that his wife suffered a broken left collar bone in a crash during Thursday evening's Exergy Tour in Boise
That means Kristin Armstrong will not be competing in the remainder of the 2012 Exergy Tour.
However, Joe Savola also told KTVB that Kristin is scheduled for surgery on Friday, and that he's positive that she will make a comeback to the sport she has dominated for the past decade.
Armstrong crashed at the race's U-turn near the Boise Depot. The spill happened at approximately 8:15 p.m. Armstrong immediately got back on her bike, and finished the race in 4':17'':00'''.  She was clutching her shoulder as she crossed the finish line.
Afterwards, Armstrong was rushed to the Team Exergy Twenty12 tent, where teammates surrounded her while medics treated her. The team's director told KTVB Armstrong would go to the hospital for X-rays.
Joe Savola says he expects Kristin to be back on a training bike within a few days. As for her widely expected appearance in the 2012 London Olympics, Savola says he's hopeful that his Kristin's 2012 season will speak for itself, and that she'll be selected to represent team USA despite the setback.
