Summer Hangout with friends

One of the things I am trying to do as Tristan gets older is to cultivate, if you will, the opportunity for Tristan to have close relationships with his friends. At Christmas I gave Tristan and Tex gifts of experience and I owed him a poll party. Tristan got to invite 8-10m friends over. It was great because there were some friends from Gateway, some from Cole Valley, some from church, and some from work. Such a diverse group of boys but loved having them all together.

Happy Birthday Sheree!

I love these ladies and we don't get to spend nearly enough time together. Tonight we are celebrating Sheree's birthday. We generally go out of town but the last couple years we have not. So what is the next best thing? Cocktails! I love the child they bring out in me. I was reluctant but here we are. Then it was off to Jim's Alibi for one last shot. Then it was back to our responsibilities.

Happy Birthday Sheree.

God said "go"...

There are so many things that I love about the Church that I attend, most of all I love the people and the fact that they make me a better person. In our recent series, "Welcome to the Rescue Ship" we have been learning the difference between a cruise ship and a rescue ship. On a cruise ship there are people there to take care of your every need. On a rescue ship you are there to take care of other. We want to be a church that rescue's. In that service we were reminded to "go" go out in our community and help the less fortunate. We were also challenged to create and impact project with our life group. Our project was to put blessing items into Nalgene bottles and hand those out along with cold water on a hot summer day. Needless to say, they were well received.

First Day of 6th Grade

Last year we were excited to find out that one of Tristan's 5th grade teachers was moving up to 6th grade. They had such a wonderful relationship last year that we prayed all summer for Mrs. McDowell to be Tristan's homeroom teacher this year and our prayers were answered.

We are so excited for the coming year!

It was great to see old friends and make new ones! This is the last year at the elementary camus so it is piter sweet. Moving to Cole Valley was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Have a wonderful year son!

Land ho

By morning we were back at port in Seattle. Tex was not able to stop at the "original" Starbucks one the way through so he though he would give it  try today. Yep, that was the line. While he waited the Z-W's and I did some shopping. It was much less crowded in the Market today than it was last weekend.

The last picture pretty much sums up this trip, you know, Tristan has siblings and as you know they are much older. I am so greatful to my friends who are family and I have enjoyed every minute of watching our kids grow up together.

Cherish every minute because in a glimpse they will be gone.

The Splashtacular Extravaganza

While on board the kids enjoyed the freedom of being able to go to the rec center. All week long they worked on their talent for the talent show at the end of the trip, well today was the day. Aliah was a clown and Tristan worked the yo yo, and it is not your typical yo yo. He loved it and he did an amazing job!

After the talent show we headed to the creperie for a treat.

Finally, I had a little surprise for my boys, Hibachi!
Oh was it good!
