Patti Keauhou Lavaman

Another Lavaman for Patti. Patti was so nervous about this race that I decided to run my own little triathlon here in Boise. My idea was that Patti and I would enter the water at the same time but I was only running 1/2 of her distances.

Patti finished this Tri in 3hours 59 minutes, this includes her 1/2 mile jont off course... (blond moment), apparently she was chatting and missed some course markers. Funny thing is a guy followed her after she made the comment not to follow her because she is blond and she will probably get lost. MANIFESTATION... Patti said this tri was so much harder than the last one. She does not plan on running this one again but we are all very proud of her for doing it this time!

WAY TO GO SIS!

Now for my little race. The morning started out a bit etchy. I did not look over my bike yesterday and I had a little tire trouble today. I ended up spending some time waiting for Tex to get ready (surprise, surprise), during that time I could not get my tires aired up. we decided to stop by the bike shop but they were not open because it was Sunday. I finally thought my pump was broken so we stopped by Fred Myer to get a new one, no luck there either.

I made one more attempt to air up the tires and I was successful so it was time to get into the pool. Today was a chilly 62 degrees outside. Who now what the pool temp was but I can tell you it is a lot colder than it was. It was 40 laps for me, more than I have ever done. Tex also swam and he had a wide variety of strokes in his arsenal. My favorite... sitting in the hot tub during his transition while I finished my laps.

Transition room...

This one's for you sis! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Does walking count?

TJ did a few laps!

Grandma came to cheer us on!

????TRANSITION????

40 laps

20 laps

12 miles here we come!

Patti and I shared in the blond moment of the day award. She goes off course for a mile and takes a fellow contestant with her. I forget to loosen my stem to air up my bike tires.

YOU MAKE THE CALL.

Finally we were off!

This is me running. All by my lonesome since Sheree & Christy did not show up...
I still love you girls!

The view of my "Ocean"

My time was 2 hours 58 minutes. Pretty much right on the money with my Y-NOT-Tri time less the long transition for my tire issue.
All in all another great race!

Boise Lavaman

As many of you now I went to Hawaii in April to watch Patti run her first Lavaman Triathlon. It was such an inspirational experience I decided to take on the sport myself.

Tomorrow Patti is running her second Lavaman. The second Lavaman is much more strenuous than the first. This course is much hillier than the first. Patti's friend Carol was going to run the race with her until she hurt her shoulder. Patti has been very nervous since she is going to be running the race by herself. It is because of this that I have decided to run "the Boise Lavaman" Patti and I will have the same exact start time 8am Hawaii/12 noon Boise. I will be running 1/2 of her distance which is twice the distance of the Y-NOT-Tri a couple weeks ago. 1/2 mile swim (40laps), 12 mile bike, 3 mile run. Tex is going to swim with me, Sheree and Christy are going to run with me.

Patti, I will be with you (as I always am), in your soul... I Love you!

I also sent Patti "Holy/Hairy Cow" Hairy cow has traveled the world with us as well as gone trough major surgery after Tasha tore him apart. Hang on Hairy Cow!

Moon Rise

Tonight Tex took Tristan and I out to watch the moon rise. We were parked above the fairgrounds and all Tristan anted to do is "go ride". When we rode the rides a couple weeks ago he got really good at raising his hands. So I told Tristan to hold his hads up and we would go for a ride... (a ride down the road in the truck).

The moon finally peaked over the foothim just as stunning as ever.

Winds of change...

Since Garrett has gone to live with his Aunt, Tristan is looking for someone to ride with. Hanna finally felt comfortable enough to take him for a spin. Super Cute!

Wind damage

Saturday night after a great family BBQ. I ma upstairs and Tex comes and tells me that it is really windy outside. We went out on the porch and it was so still outside it was scary. We literally sat down in our chairs and all of the sudden there was huge bang and the entire hose shook. All I could think was, mine I hope they built the house right. Tex and went outside to look and there was a huge chunk of the tree in the driveway and another on the third garage bay, we went outside to look and there was a third tree stuck in the branch hanging from the roof.

Needless to say we spent 5 hours with 3 of us cleaning up the debris. Our neighbor was so nice to stop and help us.

Family BBQ

Saturday we had all of the kids over, all of them except Jr. Someday Jr will get back up here from Texas. Meanwhile we thought we would BBQ some burgers. We missed you Jr but we had a great time!

Basking in the sun!

TJ is getting brave!
