Live for 175 2016

Every year at this time, the same radio DJ does this thing called “Live for 175” where he stays awake for 175 hours, broadcasting live on the radio the entire time. This year, he’s not only staying awake for 175 hours, but he’s also not eating for 175 hours. He’s doing all of this for child abuse awareness. I’m always glued to the radio when this is going on, as there are many touching and sad stories that people call in and tell. I’m not going to want to go to work. If you’d like to listen in at any time, or watch the live video while he does this for the next week, click through the picture and it will take you to the radio stations website.
The Story Behind Live for 175
April is Child Abuse Month Prevention Month.  You might have heard of this or maybe you just see it in the fine print of a yearly calendar.  Abuse is something that isn’t really talked about.  It’s only whispered about after reading tragic articles or watching a heart breaking news story. In 2008, He brought his passion to 103.3 KISS FM in Boise and created Live for 175.  Keke took his message to the radio and stayed up for 7 days to break a record for the Guiness Book of World Records.  It wasn’t just another radio stunt.  This was the most non-traditional radio event ever done in Boise.  KISS FM didn’t raise any money or take credit in the record books.  The only goal was to call attention to Child Abuse Prevention.  It’s only mission was dialogue.  Get people talking about something so secret.  It worked!
Keke will once again broadcast live for 7 days, this time from the top of a billboard in downtown Boise at Front & 9th St. He will also be doing something he has never done before… not eating.  Keke will go the entire 175 hours fasting with just water in an attempt to bring the discussion even more to the forefront of everyone’s mind.
You can do your part by wearing a blue ribbon, put up a sign in your window, stick a pinwheel in the yard, or just open your eyes and be aware. The decisions we make today, will affect the outcome…today.  There might not be a tomorrow for these kids.

Join us again this year and help spread the word, It Shouldn’t Hurt To Be A Child.

All of these people are so important to me! I love that we do this every year! Super cool to have the Niederer's here this year!

Happy 80th Mom!

Another successful Party! This time Mom turned 80 and we pulled off a great surprise! So thankful to all who came from both near and far! Special thanks to Rig and H for driving 4 hours each way for a 2 hour party! Mom was absolutely surprised and was so excited about all those who came. She is still talking about it! Thanks Gail and the rest of the family for helping decorate! Thanks Juanny for making it super special and following it up with a weekend trip to Tamarack. Unfortunately I came down with a cold and didn't get to spend as much time with everyone but some time is better than none!
