The birthday party was held at the foster family who took care of Julian for a few months. Julian now lives with Jamie here in Boise. It is nice to see Jamie, Eric and Julian all doing so well! They have come a long way!

Life is Good in Kona

Dear All-

Len and I have been having some great times that last couple of weeks. Valentine's Day was the best. As we were leaving for the movie Len mentioned that he wanted to get something for me. Just knowing he was thinking about it and his speech was clear made my day. You see, Len and I had our first real date on Valentine's Day 22 years ago. After dinner that night we sat in Len's car with the rain hitting the roof and talked about us and how we felt. It was a surreal night and one I will never forget and every year since that day we have celebrated this special time together. This year was especially poignant. It was a celebration of life and how far we have come in just 8 short months; of how much I love this man and how proud I am of what he has accomplished and that he loves me. We celebrated with a movie and dinner at the Aloha Cafe.
The next weekend Len decided it was time to do some repairs around the house. He put on his work clothes and actually fixed the clog in our sink in the bathroom. It had been clogged since our arrival home. This was not just any fix. He had to take out the push-up stopper and the wheel underneath to get at the clog. That was the easy part. Then he had to put it all back. Have you ever tried to put back all of this stuff and tried to match up the stick to the wheel? By the way, any of you girls missing a very small gold hoop earring?
That night we were invited to celebrate Judi Nakamaru's BD at her son and daughter -in- law's house. They had build an outdoor Portuguese oven and we all made our own pizzas. It was a great evening and fun had by all.
Sunday we went to see "Big River" at the Aloha Theater. Great production.
So, as you can read, we are busy and really enjoying our friends here in Kona.
Len continues to progress in Rehab. We will leave for Cabo on March 4th and will meet up with our son Steve there to go over taxes and celebrate.

May this find you all well and happy,
Aloha, Len and Sue

Cannon Rebel Xsi

In November I bought a new digital SLR. I was so excited! The camera is a great camera but I don't take it with me as much, thus less blogging. I would like to try to sell this camera as I have another smaller Cannon in mind. The purchase price is $800.00. I am willing to sell it for $600.00, with the accessories that I bought with it. those accessories include a carrying case, lens cover, and digital display protector. It is about a thousand dollar value. I have taken about 200 photos with it. Let me know if you are interested!

Hannah's basketball game

Today we woke up and made a fabulous breakfast, potatoes, eggs, and french toast. It was sooo good. Then we hurried off to Hannah's basketball game. We had not seen the McFadden's in a while so it was nice to see them. Scott was coaching and Donna was a late arrival because she had just brought Blake from his game.

The games were at Boise First Nazarene Church. Tristan was having a blast running up and down the halls. After the game we were off to run some errands. We stopped at Idaho Camera, which will be the focus of my next blog. Then we came home and made taco's for dinner, they were almost as good as breakfast! Hope you all had a great Saturday!

Sight seeing & The Lion King!

Day two in Seattle was great! We slept in and then we decided to order room service. The breakfast was amazing! After breakfast Patti and I decided to go for a walk to work off some of that breakfast : ) Mom and Lisa stayed in the room and enjoyed the view while they got ready to hit the town. We were very fortunate that the hotel had a wheel chair for us to use and we were able to do a lot more with mom. We went back down to the pier and tried another restaurant for lunch. More sea food...mmm! Then we took a trip through the aquarium which I know was Lisa's favorite! After a busy afternoon we went back to the room to get ready for the main attraction, The Lion King!

It was octopus week at the aquarium and they had all kinds of octopus activities. Here is Patti trying her "suction cups" at opening a jar! Open the jar and get a prise!

The Lion King was at the Paramount Theater down town. This theater was absolutely beautiful, it is just over 100 years old and was recently remodeled. They actually imported the floor from Italy and they can flip the chairs upside down to make a flat floor. for other types of events! Amazing!

Night shot of the Space Needle from out in front of our hotel. We did not go because we ran out of time so I guess we will just have to go back!

This is the fireplace in front of our hotel.

Mom said this was the "best trip of her life", I think that we did pretty good! It was so fun!

The girls are in Seattle!

Well, we had a great flight into Seattle. We laughed so hard on the plane, we were looking at the Sky Mall Magazine and if you have not ever looked at one of those it has some pretty funny stuff in it. Then picture your spouse using that product and it it even more funny! Here is a for instance. There was a picture of a man using a "head posture device", this is what it looks like. There is a mesh contraption underneath his chin with straps lifting up his jaw line tied to the back of the bedroom door, then imagine that person was Tex. OMG, I almost bought it just for the laugh. So, needless to say we were the giggly girls that annoy you on the plane, thank God it was a noon flight.

Once we arrived we headed off to find the rental car. I put the address in from the airport to the hotel. If you have never ridden with my mom, she is the worst back seat driver in the world. Here I am with GPS on my phone giving Patti directions and mom just pipes right up! Patti turns around to mom just like she was a three year old and says, "mom, you have to stop right now, Lynnette will give me the directions". It was so damn funny!

Once we got down by the hotel we had actually passed it and decided to stop and grab something to eat.

We stopped to eat at The Crab Pot on the miners landing on Pier 57. This is the doc were the miners used to bring the gold from the Alaskan gold rush. It was such a cute Pier. The restaurant we ate at was so cute. Patti & Lisa got a large pot of shell fish that they just dump on the table on a sheet of butcher paper. It was in sane. Mom and I were not nearly as adventures, we had fish & chip.

Lisa got shell fish 101 from Patti, it was so cute!

Mom saw this cute antique market across the street from were we ate so we had to walk over and do a little shopping. It was there I found Tex's surprise. I can blog about it because he does not read the blog so here it is. there was a rack of vintage Playboy magazine in front of the market. I actually found him the September 1985 addition with Madonna on the cover, still in the bag. He will be so excited, he loves Madonna! Then here I am riffling through the Playboy rack.

We stayed at The Edgewater Hotel on Pier 67. We had a water and city view. This is the view from our room and the sunset we enjoyed after eating and shopping. We had a beautiful view of the city skyline from our room as well. Our room was so cute, it had a western motif. Log pole beds with a fireplace in the corner that is it's main source of heat. There were two chairs in front of the fireplace with a little bear ottoman, we named him Boo Boo. He was so cute, I loved him!
