All Hallows Eve

Well, it has been another busy day. We left work early to try to get a head start on the party preparation, to no avail I didn't leave the office until 2. I ran some errands for the party, got TJ home and dressed for the night and left to visit both mom and Lisa. Dad and Sue are coming over at 600 to have dinner and share in the festivities for the evening. Sheree and Paige are coming over at 700 to trick or treat and then it will be a mad rush to put the finishing touches on the party for tomorrow.

For those of you who did not know what Tristan was going to be... Here he is, my own little Don King. I can't believe mom found the cutest little suit! And the hair...oh, the hair!

This was the best costume that came to my door! OMG, it was great!

Here came my next guests! Aren't they cute?

Dad eagerly awaited visitor while we all left to trick or treat!

After a well needed break, Sue took Tristan up to a few doors with Paige! We all had so much fun!

You may all be wondering where is Tex? Well he was in the kitchen cooking chili! He is such a great husband!

Our first carvings...

Well, as you all know we have been sooooo busy! We were in San Jose, then we came home and we all got the flu, then it was time for Halloween trick or treating and our annual chili feed and Tristan first Birthday! Ok, here we go.

I have been busy putting the finishing touches on the village, as well as on the outside decorations. Tonight was no exception. Dad, and Sue are in town for Tristan' s birthday and we all went out to grab a bite to eat afterwords TJ and I went home to start carving pumpkins. Tex went to the store to get some last groceries for the chili. Tristan was a bit of help in scooping out the pumpkins and then it was time to put him to bed. I spent the next 2 hours carving away!

And finally, for your viewing pleasure.... Tristan decided to help me while I was gutting the pumpkin, it was his idea to put the guts back in! Hello?

1 Year ago our lives were changed forever!

It was one year ago today that we received a phone call at 730 in the morning, (and we all know how I am in the morning : )), from a young women named Ashley from Atlanta. I don't even know how she introduced herself, all I remember is she said, "you have been selected and your son was born last Friday, can you be to Atlanta by this coming Friday?" Of course I replied, "Yes". I immediately hung up the phone after getting a few details and called my husband Tex. Of course I was crying but you know, I don't even remember what I said to him. My next call was to my mom. I was so happy I could not explain. Then Sue, Selena, and Dano. I will never forget that day. Here are the photo's of Tristan that we received within the first 24 hours. Some of you may have never seen these before. I can not believe where we have come and what we have endured since. I can not wait to celebrate it with you all on Saturday.

Jr High Championship Football

West Jr High Vs Les Bois Middle School

Well, the game started as we suspected, Les Bois came out charging. They scored the first touchdown and then missed their 2 point conversion. West answered right back with a huge run which resulted in a touchdown making the score 6 to 6. West also missed their 2 point conversion. We are now well into the 2nd quarter and Les Bois scored one more time. West was on a drive just before the half and fumbled the ball resulting in a Les Bois touchdown making it 18 to 6 going into the half. West came out from the half charged up. They held Les Boid for a majority of the 2nd half but were unable to score. Les Bois had one more big run just before the game ended making the final score 26 to 6.

One year ago today...

One year ago today I was on my way back from a great week in Cabo San Lucas Mexico with my sister Patti. I was very excited to see my husband and to move back into our newly remodeled home. We had been living in our apartments for 6 months while the remodel took place. They had just given us permission to move back in! Oh boy, did we not know what was coming and how our lives would change in an instant!

Happy Birthday Tristan Jacoby Horton!

Today is Tristan's Birthday. We had originally planned to have his party on November 1st, which is the day we picked him up at the agency last year. We thought for the first year it would be appropriate since last year at this time we did not know that he would be blessing our lives.

We could not let the day go buy without a bit of a celebration so when I received an e-mail from CASI (our adoption agency), of a presentation by the Boise Philharmonic for a Halloween presentation I could not resist. I called Sheree and Paige to see if they wanted to go with us.

First, we went into a room where they had a bunch of little stations with things to do. We got to play instruments...

There was a magician...
and there was face painting, we are not sure why Paige got hers on her arm? Maybe to keep it out of her Hanna Montana hair...lol!

After about 30 minutes we went upstairs to listen to some spooky music.

After we finished there, Sheree and I wanted to take the kids to the Berry Farms Pumpkin Patch. OMG, it was so much fun! They load you all up for a hayride and take you out to the pumpkin patch to choose your pumpkin. If you can carry it, you can pick it! Before we went on the hayride we took a few photo's, this is my new favorite!

On our way out!

We made it! Time to unload!

Johnny found his pumpkin!

Paige has hers and Tristan's.

Look Suzette, mom gave me my first sucker!

Well, when Suzette was over a few weeks ago she could not believe that I had not given Tristan M & M's yet, nor had I given him a sucker. After we went to the doctor the had a bowl of Dum Dum's, so I thought I might as well give it a shot. You were right Sue, he loved it!

Back to the beach.

Patti and I had to go to the office to work on the Benchmark TP. Tex and Tristan decided to go have a daddy, son day at the beach. Here are a few of their photo's.
