He Said Yes...

Had a very proud moment tonight for so many reasons. Our little G man took his Ashley to her prom. Super cool of him to do that for her and I am very proud! He invited me over to Ashley's house to get some pictures and I was privileged!

I love the the craziness of Prom hits every generation. The girls were late from getting hair and make up done. They didn't know how to put on the corsage's, and when it came time for pictures it seemed like a wedding. It is all about the right of passage and the great experience. I loved watching them experience this.

Congrats kids! Have a great time and my phone is on if you need a ride. Love you!

March of Dimes - A Kid Kastle

About 2 1/2 years ago, Tex and I went looking for a day school / pre school for Tristan. We found A Kid Kastle and have completely loved it from day 1. Tristan has had great teachers, great friends, and great activities. With him beginning kindergarten he won't be there much longer so that made today especially poignant.

The school has been hosting a fund raiser for the March of Dimes. They talked about it with all of the kids in class, so much so that Tristan told me, "Mommy, we need to check our couch for change and take it in for the babies". When I really figured out what was going on I thought it was the cutest thing ever. The school also held a bake sale, which I should say we bought a few too many items at : )
Lastly, those who were interested were going to walk together for the race. This is a race I have never taken part in but what a cause and what a great time for the kids!

After registration we went off looking for Miss Tommy, Miss Viera, & Miss Hailey. Instead we found a few super hero's hanging around.

After some time in the bounce house we found the mini Life Light and took a ride.

We found his teachers as well as a few friends.

On the latter part of the walk we found Super Hero Alley... Needless to say little TJ was stoked!

Batman is always a favorite!

Can't forget the Incredible Spiderman!

How about Ironman!

Or your friendly neighborhood policeman.

As we were leaving they began to hold a hula hoop contest... or if you ask Tristan it was  ahoop da loop contest. He begged me to go join in. I was a bit skeptical but we really had some time before his soccer game so I told him to go ahead. The cute little guy wiggle his little buns with about 6 - 8 other girls. Then, by a vote by the audience actually won his group. He was so excited! It was priceless.

Fabulous day for a fabulous cause!

Live for 175 - day 3 Family and friends share in the strength.

Live for 175 day 3 / 2 hours. The best part about today's ride... my family and friends came out! Angee told me that she and KG and the girls we going to come out. What a great opportunity for Tristan to come too. Even better, Tex and Garrett came too. WHat a great way to get the kids involved and talk about the "cycle".

KG checking out "IKE"
The Brain

The girls getting some "Luv" from Ke Ke

Check this call out, she came and rode with her kid in a backpack...

You've got mail...

For weeks, maybe even months, Tristan has been checking the mail box. A few weeks ago he says to me... "Mommy when am I going to get a letter?" After spreading the word a bit, Auntie Lisa hit the jackpot! Tristan got his first piece of mail. He was so excited! So if you want to make a little boys day. drop him a line the old fashioned way. He would love it!

Day 2 Live for 175

Day 2 at Live for 175 this week. For many of you, you know it has been a pretty emotional week for me. 3 more hours on the bike is one good way to handle that. Thank you all for your support!

BOISE -- April is Child Abuse Prevention month, and each year, KISS FM morning show host Keke Luv pulls out all the stops to put an end to abuse in our community.
He's pulled off some wild stunts in the past, like running seven marathons, or staying awake for seven straight days.
This year, it's a push to 'Cycle to Break the Cycle.' The unique LIVE for 175 event consists of volunteers riding 13 stationary bikes and powering the radio broadcast for 175 hours. If the cycles stop, so does the broadcast.
It's something the staff at KISS FM is passionate about.
"I think it's the stories you report on, we hear them every day, and I don't know if we are just more aware of it," said Luv. "You know what, I would love not to do this, I'm upset I have to keep doing this, I would love to not do this anymore, but every time there is a new story, it shows we have to continue to do this because it's not going away."
Luv says it's a great way for folks to take a meaningful action in raising awareness of child abuse.
"Every time someone jumps on a bike, even for 60 seconds then they are standing up and saying it shouldn't hurt to be a child," said Luv.
Lynnette Horton came down to the studio to take part in the cycling marathon because of her personal connection to child abuse. "I can really understand it," Horton said. "I was abused as a child, and I wanted to get it out there and make a difference."
Horton says awareness is key to stopping the cycle, because all too often, kids are too afraid to talk.
Paramedic Chris Loffer also showed up to lend his support and leg power to the cause. He works with a woman who recently lost her grandson to abuse. "I kind of felt helpless," Loffer said."You think we live in an age where people know it's wrong, and yet you still hear about it all the time."
The event got under way Friday and continues until this coming Friday at 5:00 p.m. Because it's a 24 hour a day operation, Luv is asking for riders to help out.
Volunteers are encouraged to go the the KISS FM website to learn more, or just show up at the corner of Eagle and Fairview and jump on a bike.
"Anybody can come down and contribute," said Luv. "I'm just playing the music and talking to people, it's everyone else that is powering the message."

2 besties in one weekend... who could ask for more

Saturday, after Tristan's soccer game we headed to Twin Falls. Suzette's girls had a cheer meet and we had been planning for months to meet there and spend the night. We did not tell Tristan that they were coming so it was a surprise.

We arrived a bit earlier than the Niederer's so we decided to do a little sight seeing which we don't normally do. It was kind of fun as we don't usually take the time to do that.

After we finished checking out the bridge we headed to the room to check in. Tristan was dying to hit the pool but we were stalling for time until they arrived. We got joining rooms so it was easy to come and go and the kids could play.

After dinner it was time to hit the pool: )
This allowed Sue and I some time to catch up.

Could they be any cuter?

Sunday we decided to hit the mall then grab some lunch. Tex had a couple shops he wanted to hit as did Sue and the girls... and you know me I am not a shopper so the boys and I hung out. We did boy stuff :)

We hit the rides...

the games...

... and oh yes, this one was for mommy, the cotton candy machine :)

Tex was happy, he found new things in the Bronco Shoppe... he makes me laugh.

Saw this cool cloud on the way home.

What a fabulous weekend!
