A socially Distanced Halloween

This year looked a bit different for so many but we were not going to let it get us down. We set up a social distance experience outside where families could walk through the yard and pick up treats in two locations. This year we had interactive cast members that could social distance but still celebrate the holiday. It started out a bit slow but finished strong.

Happy Haunting Everyone.

Optimist Dicks Sporting Goods Bowl Game Gators 48 YMC Inc 30

And just like that this season of our lives are over. Today the boys played in the Dick's Sporting Goods Optimist Bowl Game, they walked away with a win but little do they know they walked away with so much more than that. We made some great friends over the past 3 years, (4 years for many). We have amazing coaches who have given so much of their time to these boys. They have taught them more than just game, they were the launching pad for these young men and I could not have asked for a better group.
Tristan began tackle football being hesitant on the defensive line. "He needs to be meaner they said, at least on the field. We want them mean on the field and nice off the field." After three years of growth I could not be more proud of this young man. I watched him grow from the last person in the sprint to the one leading the pack, he would be the strongest to tackle someone and the first to help them up. He began playing defense some of the game to playing both sides of the ball almost the entire game. He supports his team and his coaches throughout the game. I love you Tristan and I am excited for the next chapter.

Mothers of Fall - Optimist Youth Football

As we wrap up Optimist Youth Football we find ourselves all headed our separate ways, some moving onto baseball, some moving on to Jr High Football, and some not playing at all. I will never forget these Mom's this was such a pivotal point in our boys lives.

Happy 13th Birthday T

Took Tristan to his favorite steak house for his birthday. Auntie Lisa and the Jensen's came to celebrate with us!

Happy Birthday bud!

Gators 34 The Curb Bar & Grill 26

There were so many things in this game that I was proud of! Tristan was on fire again and the boys were playing well. The boys were leading pretty handily when Tristan took a shot in the back of the leg. I could tell that he was hurt a bit more than normal. Turns out he was stepped on right on the back of the achillies. The good news is, it was a bit sore and bruised but after some ice packs he was ok. He only played half the game but the boys held on for the win. I loved seeing Tristan a Dayson celebrate and I was even more proud when Tristan and Jack helped the injured apposing player. Such a great foundation these coaches have cultivated.
