Scheduled off day, trip around the island.

I was very excited when we were planning our trip that Sheree said she would like to take Paige on a helicopter ride.I was very sad when I found out that Patti and mom were not going to be able to make the trip. We did however invite Dad so that was a pleasant addition. We also invited Sue but she already had things planned for the day.

Active dome.

All of this steam was being put off above the lava. We did get to see a some but it was hard to get photo's of.

This is the only house left in the area of the active domes. It is completely blocked from all road ways. It is a Bed and Breakfast that you either have to hike into or fly into.

Me and my baby!

The pilot took us out over the bay to see if we could see any whales. Well we did! It was amazing.
So sorry you missed it mom : (

After our helicopter ride we headed into Hilo for some lunch.

Then it was off to Akaka Falls

My daddy and me : )

On our way out of Akaka Falls there was a local boy selling coconut drinks. Tex wanted to stop and we all agreed. I love that Tex loves to do this because it just adds to the experience. I love him! And yes, it was super fun!

Tex loves the Banyan trees and these are huge.

The last stop in this long day was the Black Sands Beach. This is my favorite spot that we never get to spend enough time at.

There are always Honu, that is one of the things I love other than the pure beauty.

As everyone went off on their own way I sat down on the lava and said a little prayer to please take away my head cold and to allow Patti and I to have a safe race. 3 days to Lavaman! Great day with family and friends!

Snoreling anyone?

When Sheree and Paige arrived there was a a lot of talk about the Gecko's and how they run around Dad & Sue's house. They were so impressive to me when I was a kid that I had one tattooed on my foot. Sheree got a wild hair to try to catch one for the kids... It did not go so well!

Well, my cold is kicking into full swing, today is on off day so at least I don't have to work out. We decided to head down to the snorkel beach to get some snorkeling in. TJ fell asleep so he and Tex stayed in the car while Sheree, Paige and I headed down to the beach. Bad news was a swell came in last night and the water was very rough. It is a bad sign when you show up to snorkel and the bay is full of surfers. We made the best of it though. It was a bit rough for Paige so she ended up playing by the beach. I did get to take a spin out there though.

Since the water was rough, we decided to walk over by the rock where the Honu hang out. They did not disappoint! It is a bit hard to see but there is a Honu in the water just to the left of Paige.

Tex decided to surprise us with a night down on Ali'i. We stayed at the Kona Tiki Hotel. Super cute place. The only bad thing was the swells got so high that the waves kept us up for most of the night. If the waves were not keeping us awake then my cold was. This was the worst night for my cold and I had a bit of a "break though" but all is good. The place was super cute though and we had fun swimming and hanging out by the pool. It was another beautiful sunset!

Christy here is Sheree taking your foot shot!

Thanks My Love!
