My little Houdini

I never blog at work but this one I could not wait to share! Tex just called me to tell me about our little Houdini, Tristan. He said that he went downstairs about 9 am to get his milk and cereal ready before he woke him up, just as he does every day. While he was fixing breakfast he hears "DA DA" from the top of the stairs. Some of you may be asking what is so wrong with that? Well Tristan sleeps in his crib with the door shut. Yes, Tristan climbed out of the crib without a peep, opened the door and went looking for dad who was amazed to find him at the top of the stairs. Thanks, honey, for calling to share this with me!

First BBQ of the year.

It has been a mild spring here in Boise. The weather has been warm enough for me to swim but not really warm enough to take Tristan out. He gets to cold too fast so it has hardly been worth it. Last weekend we ran a concession stand at a women;s tournament as a fundraiser for our team. We made about 200$ but we also had a lot of food left so we decided to have our first BBQ. It was a beautiful afternoon. TJ even made it for quit a while!

Family & Friends!

This Sunday brought another fun day by the pool. We had Hanna for the weekend and Tex was off to the airport to get Garrett for the summer. While we waited for their arrival I invited Johnny, Sheree, Paige, Hannah, & Sophie for a swim and BBQ.

One year later...

It has been one year since dad's accident. We have all progressed in our own ways. We have all worked very hard in our own ways. Many families could have been destroyed by such an event. Thanks to all of our family and friends whom have supported us throughout the past years so that we were not to become one of those statistics! We are truly blessed!

Thw boys & girls of summer

You know, I never seem to blog about my two softball teams. It is not because I don't love them but more so because if I blogged about every game you would be so sick of softball you would not believe it!

I am on a women's team, Tex is on a men's team and we both play co-ed on the same team. Softball is actually how Tex and I met. On this particular nite we are playing co-ed at Ann Morrison Park. We have a great co-ed team. We love to get together, play some great ball, and have a few beers. Since Tristan is much more mobile this year, I quit often EH (extra hitter), and we bat 12. This means I don''t have to go in the field. That is what I was doing on this day. I happened to be "in the hole" (the on deck batter), and to my surprise when I turn around to see where Tristan is.... I see all these people sitting around the table and Tristan has Scott's beer and is drinking it! I am like HELLO, can someone get the beer away from TJ? I could not believe it. It was quit funny though!

BUFFY

Everyone is so positive! I love that!
We actually beat Turner's today 14 - 9, they are one of our rivals, as well as friends. Any day the game can go either way.

While we were playing, the Ice Cream Man came by so Sheree got the kids a Popsicle. This was Tristan's first Popsicle on his own. I think the Popsicle won!

No Red Dye #5 in there, is there?

Amos... where have you been?

My friend Amy has been on hiatus for 2 YEARS! I met her in college and after college I got her a job with Parklane. Amy later moved to Twin Falls by her family about 2 years ago. We kept in touch at first and then she had her number changed. I tried everything to find her, Google Parklane, information, you name it I tried it. So imagine my surprise when I receive a phone call from her at my office? Oh, I was so cranky and happy at the same time. Amy did not even know about Tristan yet. Needless to say she does now! Amy and I now have each others information and promised to keep in touch!

To My Daddy on Father's Day...

The Father's Day seems so poignant, it has been almost 1 year since dad's accident. We have come so far but we also have a ways to go. I thank God every day for all of the blessings in our life and my dad is certainly one of them. I love you so much and can't wait to see you when you get here!

This picture was taken while dad was watching Tristan, Sue and I play on the beach in Hawaii, I think the smile says it all! No injury could ever take that expression away!

Happy Father's Day!

To my wonderful husband! you are so much more than a father to our children, you are my soul mate and I am so lucky to have found you! I hope this day was perfect for you!

There is a what in my yard?

Tex and I went out Friday night to grab a bite to eat. When we pulled back into the driveway he noticed something in the tree in front of our house...

Before I tell you what it was let me give you a little history on these trees. When we bought the house the tree to the north (left) was much more established than the one to the south(right). We had been told that one had died and they replaced it and it was basically playing catch up with the other.

For years now we have been having this tree trimmed to match the other. It is kind of like a willow but it is not. So imagine out surprise when we pull into the driveway and notice this...
