Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day and we are spending the day with our friends Sheree and Johnie. Sheree's mother's family settled outside of Donnelly and they invited us to the Memorial Service at the Finnish Cemetery and Church where they were commemorating the day with a 21 gun salute. This was very special day and we want to thank them for sharing their culture with us.

This video clip need no introduction... Thank you for all who have given and are giving to our country. Freedom is not free.

After heading back we headed over to the house to see the Niederer's. We were going to go fishing but we didn't have any bait so we headed out on a walk to try to find some worms. We struck out on the worms but had a lot of fun on the walk.

Patti had gone out on a run and Tasha rousted out this baby elk calf. The mother was hiding in the brush across the street.

It began to rain a bit so we opted for the hot tub at the lodge rather than fishing.

After dinner it was off to the lake for a little fishing and fun. We rounded out the night with smore's by the campfire.

Family, friends, and fun!
That is what life is all about right?

Lot's of friends and family!

Sunday we drove into McCall for a little shopping and we had to get our fishing license. I thought I would call Sheree because they are at the condo. We met up with them at a new pastry shop for hot chocolate and coffee. Dad stayed home for some quiet time, so we got hi a slice of homemade cherry pie for a surprise. He loved it!

Johnnie and Sheree had gotten a surprise for Tristan and gave it to him. It was a Thomas the Train puzzle in a Thomas Lunch Box.

Auntie Lisa, Tristan and I went to the park while Patti did some shoe shopping. Tristan showed Lisa how he likes to throw rocks in the lake. Tristan loves rocks right now!

The Niederer's came to town for a long weekend! They stayed at our new place.

Tex also came up for the night, he brought me a great surprise... GARRETT!
I was so happy!

Patti made a beautiful Pu' Pu' platter.

Hmmm, how does the oven work?

Spaghetti, the Horton pot (with onions), the Niederer pot (no onions), Patti's pot (no meat).

After dinner we all went for a walk. We took the kids down the road to a small pond. We all took our turn at throwing rocks in it.

Loving the puzzle time: )
