Shark cakes!

As you saw my nephew, Colin, had a 7th birthday yesterday. My sister-in-law, Gail spent hours making his cupcakes. Colin loves Sharks! So Gail made shark cupcakes for his entire class. They must think he has the COOLEST mom!

Notes from Kona

Cabo San Lucas

Today seems to be a blog day and it is a nice afternoon to update you all on our progress.
Len and I traveled to Cabo in early March to our Terra Sol homeowners meeting. We departed Kona on March 4 on a red eye and arrived in Cabo on March 5. We had a great time getting together with our friends there and had a visit from Steve, who brought the taxes for Len's OK. Steve went out fishing every morning he was there but had no luck with the fish. He did see a whale breach right in front of him so made it all worth it. Len and I had some wonderful times with our friends there and are sooo much good food.
We returned to Kona on March 18th and that evening were back in the swing of things with a chorus rehearsal. Len and I both performed that weekend on March 21st. Yes, Len performed. Little did I think that Len would be ready to get back into chorus when we arrived home in January. Many thanks to Mark Barville(our director) for encouraging Len to participate. It was a wonderful experience to see Len up on the risers singing along with the rest of us. Who would have thought it. Roger recorded a little of one of our rehearsals at the Sheraton. Thanks Roger.

Life continues to bless us and Len just keeps going up and up. It is slow at times but never a backward glance.
We hope this finds you well and happy.
Aloha,
Sue and Len

TJ's first trip to the ER.

Well, it has been a long week. Last weekend Tristan was a bit sick. He had a terrible case of Daria that got progressively worse. Monday he woke up uncharacteristically early, 6 am, crying, he was really poopy. I changed him but I used an outside light to see so I could try to keep him asleep. We fell asleep in the chair for a couple of hours before I got up to get ready for work.

After I left for work Tex called me and asked me if Tristan's penis was swollen? I said it was hard for me to see this morning but it was not last night. Tex told me it was bad and we made an appointment at his pediatrician. We met at the doctors office at 1050 am. The pediatrician sent us straight to the emergency room. With not much or a wait at the emergency room, the doctor told us that this is what happens when you do not do a circumcision. I said, sorry, he was circumcised!

When Tristan was circumcised I questioned a extra fold of skin that was left. When I told the doctor he said that could be the problem. He wanted us to take Tristan to a specialist later in the week. In the mean time we were to put a topical steroid on the affected area. You know, I just have to say, even through all of this TJ is a trooper! He is such a great baby! His demeanor is always happy go lucky, not to terribly fussy! We are so blessed!

Wednesday we took him to the specialist that said it is too early to tell if any corrective surgery is needed. The doctor did not have a reason for this other than it could have been a restriction or a virus. In the meantime she put him on a weeks worth of antibiotics and she want to see him in a month but he is doing much better now.

Advertising...

So Tex and I went out to The Idaho center to the back yard show. we were hoping to find some backyard furniture. Unfortunately, they had mostly hot tubs. It was almost two years ago that we went to the show in Boise, it was there we found Pristine Pools and began the remodel of our pool. Pristine happened to be at the back yard show in Nampa this year. When we walked up to there booth this is what we saw.

Yes, those pictures on that poster are our house. For those of you who have not seen the finished product yet here it is....

My love's birthday! The Big 45

The love of my life turned 45 today. He woke up to my bright shining face, that has to be a great thing! Then he found many surprises scattered throughout the house. After work we were off to Cafe Ole', his restaurant of choice. Mom and Lisa joined us for some great food.

The staff came and sang him Happy Birthday! Nice hat babe! They even brought him a Fried ice cream. Mom got jealous because she wanted some!

Tristan happily shared hers!

Tex had to blow out the candles so we pulled out the cake! I was nice and only put 9 candles on his cake, totalling 4 & 5.

Lisa got her own cake because she is allergic to chocolate.

Time for presents! Mom got him a cool digital frame. Lisa got him a cute frog. Tristan and I got him a couple of CD's and a cool pin holder for his Hard Rock Cafe pins. It is actually a hard rock case that I got for him while we were in Vegas.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Tristan's first Twist

Today I took Tristan to see Sherry at Talk of The Town. I was referred to Sherry for Tristan's ethnic hair. About a year ago I saw a really cute hair do on a little boy about Tristan's age now. I had bought the things I needed to do it myself but I was chicken so I made an appointment with Sherry. We decided to try a twist, and here it is! It only took about a 1/2 hour.

Vegas day 3

Monday we all got up and went out for breakfast. After breakfast Sheree and I had scheduled pedicures. When we got back Tex and Tristan were having a nap so Sheree and I went down to meet Johnny in the lobby. We hung out for a bit and then I went up to check on Tex. He and Tristan were up and ready to go.

Tex, Tristan and I headed over to the Luxor, it was there that I saw this great display of angles going up one of the escalators. After checking out the Luxor we headed over to Mandalay Bay to see the shark reef. Again, it was very cool but Tristan just wanted to cruise through it. It was still fun! After leaving the reef we busted a move down to the Eiffel Tower to try to catch the sunset. We missed the sunset but we did get to see the water display at the Belagio. It was cool to see it from up above. the funny thing was that the security guard was just amazed with Tristan. She loved him. TJ was following her and the elevator gal around the walk way. It was so funny. Tristan was getting fussy so she said let me watch him and you watch the water display, she even found me a great place to watch from.It was the cutest thing.

We had a great time!

Vegas day 2

Sunday, Tex and Tristan started the day off with a dip in the tub. Tex decided to go work out and said he would be back in an hour. Tristan and I went to watch Sheree and Johnny ride the roller coaster in the New York New York when we returned Tex was not there and it had been about an hour and a half. We were starting to get hungry so we called down to the spa. Low and behold, Tex was there. He was watching a basketball game. Needless to say we were hungry and ready to go eat.

We headed off to The Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. We were able to catch a shuttle so we did not have to pay for a cab. We had a nice lunch and of course we purchased some souvenirs.

After returning from The Hard Rock we were off to see Sigfried & Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage. There they have a dolphin exhibit as well as the lion Garden. It was beautiful but Tristan was getting very cranky so we did not get to spend as much time there as I would have liked. Sheree and Johnny went ahead of us because we had show tickets at our hotel tonight for Zumanity. Sheree and Johnny were going first at 730, the we were going at 1030 while they watched Tristan for us.

I love the shot that Tex took of the bar stools in the Mirage. I also could not resist the picture of the Eiffel Tower while we were walking back to our room.
