Somewhere over the rainbow..

We have been having some incredible thunderstorms lately. One blew through this today and produced the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen in my life. It was so beautiful that even Garret came running up stairs to show Tristan and I. That was so thoughtful. These pictures are great but they still don't do it justice.

Sunday dinner

Today Tristan met the ice cream man. I was so excited when I heard them around the block! Garrett wen to see where they were and Tristan and I were not for behind.

I love this picture of the boys sitting in the driveway eating their ice cream.

Then the boys went for a spin. I will miss this when Garrett leaves : (

After the ride, Tristan and I went for a walk around the block. I taught him to blow the dandelions away!

Mom and Lisa came over for dinner. We made the hamburger patties in gravy with mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. It was yummy! One more time with mom and I should have it down! Thanks mom.

Let the journey begin

Many of you know that I went to Hawaii last month to see my sister run the Lavaman Trithlon. What most of you don't know is that experience changed my life. I had already made the decision to have the Lap Band Sergery but now I am training to be a triathlete. My first goal will be to finish my steps to complete the Lap Band the end of May. My 6 month goal is to train to be a spinning instructor. In October I plan to return to Hawaii to watch the Iron Man Triathlon in person, at that time I plan to compete a practice run of the Lavaman. It is because of all of these experiences that my life has been a bit chaotic lately. I have been researching the purchase of my road bike and last week I made the final decision. I have been trying to get there all week to go get it. I purchased it at Bob's Bicycle Shop . This is were we purchased Lisa's bike too and they have taken such great care of her. I was please when the bike that I liked best was from there.

After I was done working I finally made it to the shop. I was so excited! This is the bike that, in less than a year from now, I will compete on in Hawaii! The first thing that I had to do after I picked it up was to go ride it. I was so excited that I called Patti! She didn't answer. She was probably at the beach. She did however, call me back. I was so giggly when she called the excitement brought me to tears.

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful sister! Patti has certainly found her way and I am so proud of her!

Touch N Go Volleyball

I have not taken my camera to one volleyball game this year. So I decided to tonight. I used to put my own team together but when I started loosing players I began playing with Sheree & Christy. This season we got moved up a division because we did so well again the teams we played last season. It was really nice. We did not win all of our games but we did play well and we had a lot of fun! Can't wait until next year girls!

My new do...

I have had so many changed recently that I have felt like getting a new hairdo. After looking through a few books, I narrowed it down to four and headed into see Ray. Ray is my hair dresser that Tex referred me to some years ago. I love her. It is kind of funny because her and Tex were supposed to be set up pre us but it never happened. I always give them crud about it. Needless to say she has been doing my hair for years and I absolutely love this cut! What a great change!

Tub Time...

OK, you may have noticed I never publish any pictures of Tristan in the tub. Some part of me says that I should not do that. More recently I have decided that I will regret it if I don't have any of those photo's. He is so darn cute I just could not resist!

Tristan is where?

So I know I have not blogged in a while. I have been so busy! I have also been having trouble with my lap top but that is soon to be remedied. I have some catching up to do so here we go.

About a week or so ago Tristan began playing in this basket it our room. He actually climbs in and closes the lid. It was super cute!

What a beautiful day!

Today was another wonderful day! I woke up, looked at the mountain and said " I should go skiing". So Tristan and I loaded up to hit the slopes. funny thing was I was on the phone with Angee and I headed to HWY 55. I realized it while we were on the phone. Tristan fell asleep while we were driving to Bogus so I parked in the sun up by the top of the three man and we both had a little nap. Once he woke up we headed for the slopes. Today was the first day that I had the "leash". The leash is a harness that I put on Tristan. It has a handle to lift him on the chair and 2 leash's to hold onto him as he goes down the hill. The hardest thing for him today was that I was now behind him rather than in front of him. That only lasted one trip though. We made about 5 -6 runs down the hill before he said that he had to go potty. It was all down hill from there... no pun intended. We went potty, then he wanted to go up and down the stair, then he wanted to visit everyone outside. I was trying to get him back to the three man chair so we could head to the truck. All of that only took about an hour. All in all, it was another great day! Way to go Tristan!

Another step forward

Some of you know that I am preparing to have the Lap Band Surgery. This is a weight loss tool that will assist me in the amount of food that I eat. Many of you know that I have lost large amounts of weight numerous times and I have been unsuccessful in keeping it off, a year ago I would not have been ready to make this decision. Now I am anxiously awaiting the process. One of the steps in the process is having a sleep study done to make sure that you do not have sleep apnea. I would not normally put this faltering photo of myself in the blog but as it is a part of my Journey, I thought that I must.
