There were many votes on what to do on Saturday. Many of us wanted to drag out summer and head to the water park but that would have been hard for Tex so we chose something that all of us could be a part of and it turned out to be a super fun and challenging day. The park was so large we did not get to all of it but there definitely were some high lights! The kids loved the log ride, and the sky lift, Angee loved feeding the giraffe, I loved the African Cichlid Tank, I'm not really sure what the boys highlight was?
We headed to dinner at Popo's where kg had a little run in with the law and then it was back to the hotel for a night swim and some "BS".
Angee and I have had a pretty amazing year in self growth and self love. It was through that process that we fell in love with a particular artist, Lauren Daigle. Her song, "You Say" pretty much changed our life. There have been other song's that followed that we also love, "Look Up Child", and "Rescue".
A few months ago we decided that we needed to see her live so we looked up easy flights to see her since she was not coming to Boise. Phoenix it was!
We headed out on Thursday, cue the guy in our picture that we don't know LOL!
Spent the evening chilling in the hotel and then we were off Friday!
First we headed for the hills, Dobbin's Lookout. A peak just outside of Phoenix with amazing views... and shopping! The kids all bought a unique gift that the ladies made. They also fit in some yoga poses while we were there. We stopped at the visitor center on the way out. I just loved the cactuses!
Next stop... 7 Eleven for me of course! I had to get my Slurpee fix!
It was not as good as I remembered.
As if we could not fit enough in... we stopped for lunch at an amazing Pasty Restaurant called
The Cornish Pasty Co. The kids played pool and we just hung out.
We needed some more to do so it was off to The Goldfield Ghost Town. A little commercial but it was super fun! Angee bought Tristan a sucker with a scorpion in it. The deal was... he had to eat it. I can not believe he did it! The kids visited the reptile center and the rest of us did a little shopping. Tex and I even had a cocktail the saloon. Then after a full day it was time to head out, because after all, we had a show to catch.
The boys dropped us off at the University and we got some LD swag, which I never do. Then it was time for the show. I absolutely loved how much the kids were into it. As for me it was all about the worship. As she began to sing "You Say" I really wanted to hug Angee but I did not want to creep her out, I did it anyway. I just hugged her and said... "we made it". So many meanings to that statement and I would not have shared that moment with anyone else. I can not wait until we can see her again!
