Martin Luther King Jr Day

We feel it is very important to help Tristan understand his history. Not that this is not important for all kids we are just kind of "hypersensitive" if you will so that he knows his. For years we have taken Tristan to the MLK walk. Last year Tristan did not want to go. This year he did. Tristan's friend Jacob joined us as well. We feel this is a good way to bring up communication if you will.

We joined the march this year as we always do from BODO, the only difference this year was that we joined the march at the beginning of the march rather than the end. The energy here at the beginning of the group was not good, it almost felt "angry". I didn't say anything about it until after the march. We continued to the capital and then the boys got cold so we headed off to get lunch.

We landed at Boise Fry Company. It was a good place to decompress the feelings of the day and talk about the energy in the air on this day. Tristan mentioned that he "cried" a little bit, I mentioned the "uneasy"feeling and Tex even said he felt "anger". Today was a tough day but it made for some good conversation, that, if nothing else means the day was successful.
