Well Homecoming did not go quite as planned in more ways than one.
I was on my way to the game and received a call that Tristan was on his way to the hospital with a possible broken finger. I was almost to the field so I mapped the closest urgent care and it was right on the other side of St Lukes Eagle. We arrived at the same time an T was a bit amped up on adrenaline to say the least.
T went for a pass in pre game and took the long pass on his left pinky finger. That play dislocated his finger according to the Dr's. (if your squeamish skip the pictures).
After a little persuading, a few deep breaths, and many jokes, the Dr popped it back into place and we were headed back to the field. T ran back in and got taped up and he was back on the field.
The game did not go quite as planned. We were down 10-7 at the half and the boys came out fighting in the second half and scored 2 field goals, but after some costly turnovers they were not able to close the deal tonight.
This is the second trip to the hospital this week. Praying they are not coming in "3's".
I love the last picture with his helmet, the taped finger and the emergency id band still on. This kid has come a long way and he showed a lot of grit tonight. We are very proud of the fighter he is becoming.
