Volcano and family

Earlier in the week we had decided to make the trip to Volcano, unfortunately that did not happen.

Today, however, was the day!

Patti, Stacey, Tex, Tristan, Lisa, and I all decided to make the trip. I have seen the Pele' twice before and I am always simply amazed by God's creation. We ended up taking two cars and Patti and Stacey were running late. Surprise, surprise!

There was an amazing lighting storm going on upon our arrival. So much so that after walking down the 1/4 mile path under the flashing light we almost turned back. As we approached the rim the bolts were shooting all around us. I actually could not believe they let us go out there.

Then the flashing lights came. Park Rangers were clearing out all the visitors, too dangerous. Patti and Stacey had not even arrived yet. But then, low and behold, here they come! Getting a quick peak before the rangers pushed us out.

The funny part was the lightening storm had almost now past, the dangerous time was over for the most part. As we were walking back to the parking lot they actually opening it back up.

We headed to the Volcano House as we had reservations for dinner. Patti and Stacey turned around to get another glimpse.

We all finally met up for dinner. It was a good thing we ordered for them because they had quit serving by the time the arrived.

Loved spending time together!

Those are mine!
