When you take Da Boys zip lining to Tamarack for Tristan's 14th birthday. Since Tex was in Texas with his Dad Angee volunteered to help me drive. What an amazing night! We picked them up after the track meet and stopped at Subway for dinner which was entertaining in itself. We ate a "quick" dinner and then we we were on the road.
We stopped by Cascade Raft and Kayak to honor Bryson since he was traveling and could not be here.
With the road closure on highway 55 Mon - Thur we were not expecting to stop but no such luck. This seemed like an optimal time to see if today's youth new what a Chinese Fire Drill was... to no avail. So, Angee and I decided to reach them! OMG, I love these boys! Needless to say highway 55 was rocking at 9 pm lol.
Before long we were bac on the road and when we hit Donnelly we decided to stop to pick up a few snacks and marshmallows for the fire pit. This was definitely another adventure.
Once we arrived at the house it was a crazy game of hide and seak all throughout the house! It was chaos! When they wrapped up the games I started the fire pit to hear some crazy chant that I am sure only they know. They enjoyed boy time and marshmallows. They it was time to move to the hot tub to warm up.
By 1130 I called it a night and left the boys to their gaming.
The next morning we fed them breakfast and the got ready to hit the road. I new it was going to be raining so I had bought them all ponchos and I am so glad because it poured! We watched the orientation snapped a picture and then they were off after a quick prayer for them and their 2 female guides! We prayed for them the most ; )
Angee and I headed back to the cabin and hopped in the hot tub while the were gone and caught up on life. We had a whole plan to have their pizza's ready when they returned so we could finish cleaning and then be on our way. As we were putting the first pizza in all of the sudden our house was filled with screaming boys, they finished earlier than expected and decided to run home! After we got them fed they all took power naps and then we were off!
What a night!
Happy 14th birthday son!
