The National Mall and the Kite Festival

DC Day 1
Bring on the Cherry Blossoms! The convention starts Tuesday so we decided to check out the events. Today was a kite festival at The National Monument.
We had not eaten breakfast yet and it was lunchtime and we found a cute diner called Ollie’s Trolleys. Oddly they only took cash. Angee saved the day! The food was great and the environment was funky, just what we love! After lunch we headed to The Mall and as we rounded the corner there were endless people and endless kites. The day was perfect, 65 degrees, enough wind to fly a kite, enough sun to get a little red. We strolled through The Mall stopping by the WWII Memorial, The Korean Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, The Vietnam Memorial, a quick stop for ice cream, and finished with The White House, finally working our way back to the hotel. Both being too tired to go to dinner, I ran down to the hotel restaurant for some take out where we snuggled up to watch The Bachelor. Tomorrow Pennsylvania with UAA before our meeting and training begin.
