Day 2 - The Vatican City

Rome day 2- after waking up at 430 I tossed and tuned until 7 when we got up before we headed for the Vatican. Tex and I walked over together early so we did not have to rush. “Flat Dani and Maren” made an appearance today too! Sure miss you girls! You too H and Selena, wish you were here. The Vatican was long but worth it. We were well into our 10k steps before lunch. After leaving The Vatican City we all parted ways for lunch. Tex and I stopped for an amazing pizza and gnocchi meal. We then headed back for nap which was fantastic. We spent another lovely meal together celebrating our new friend Arlene who joined us for our time in Rome. Dinner was delicious, with starters of charcuterie, focaccia bread, tomato and cheese lasagna, veal and mashed potatoes, and finally tiramisu. Accompanied by wine of course. We completed out evening with a night cap at a roof top bar named The Atlante Star with 360 degree views of the city of Rome. Another amazing day of celebration!
