Our day began with a golf cart tour of the city, we began in Rome’s “Central Park” Villa Borgese viewing many beautiful scapes and architecture. We visited The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, many historical ruins, and The Roman Colosseum. Our cart drivers were fabulous! They shared a lot of great knowledge and made us a reservation and a great little restaurant called Ponte & Parione. We had some amazing pasta’s and salads. It turned out one of our cart drivers works there in the afternoon and it was a great find!
We left lunch and went our separate ways. The Jensen's had to go to Hard Rock Cafe, Sue and Tex headed back to the hotel, and the rest of us set out on an adventure to shop, see The Pantheon and make our way to an evening of Pizza making. It was a little bit of a walk but we had fun along the way.
What a fabulous evening with friends and family! We enjoyed local hospitality, great friends, and wonderful family. They served us a delightful bowl of strawberries with fresh mint for desert. It was perfect.
A few of us capped of our last evening in Rome with an evening walk to St Peter’s Square and Castel Sant’ Angelo.
Tomorrow we take the train to Nampoli and we will visit Pompeii.
