Day 7 - Into the mountains

Today we visited the famous villa and gardens at Villa Rufolo. The ruins from the 13 century were left in disarray before being restored periodically, and most recently by Neville Reid as a beautiful garden to create photography for postcards. It truly was nothing short of spectacular.
We then headed further into the mountains to visit the Tentura San Francesco Cantine, a four generation winery once visited by Justin Timberlake seeking an immersive experience, now shared with other select groups such as ours. The vineyards date back 300 years. This was truly the highlight of the day, a delightful lunch paired perfectly with the select wines chosen by the vintner who served us as well. Gaetano was beaming with pride observing our approval. We all left very happy to say the least.
Our last stop would be in Amalfi. There we strolled the city streets which were the busiest we’ve seen. Some shopped, some enjoyed a cafe, others lemon sorbet.
We returned to our villa for a spontaneous farewell “apericena” appetizer dinner, to say farewell to Sue, Gail, and Carrie who would depart in the morning.
Quite the perfect day.
