2010 Ironman

Up at the crack of dawn for my first Ironman. 530 am we headed down for the 630 pro start at the pier. Patti, TJ, and I and our new friends Ian and Sam found our place at the start line. The crowd was already quit large and we were unable to get to the wall with Tristan so we found a spot were we could watch the big screen. After the swim we watched the swimmers transition to the bike. I can't explain the emotions of this day, 30 minutes on NBC just does not do it justice.

The finish line.

Christy, this is for you! This is Patti's cute foot charm that I got for her.

Our new friends Ian and Sam : )

Does this tell you how exhausting this day was? We saw this group of young men lying under some shade trees taking a break from their day as they volunteered for this event.

Cyclist coming out of the transition from the swim.

Me, TJ, & Auntie Patti

Some of the final swimmers coming in.

these photo's are from the "hot corner", The hot corner was a 4 way stop in Kona where the bike came into the transition area and the you could also see the runners head out for the marathon.

Women's Champion Mirinda Carfrae 8:58:36.

Patti with the Po Po getting permission to cross the course to take TJ to Grammy & Pa Pa's.

The Boys are back.

Sam getting some love from a fellow athlete.

Cute Iron family after the race.

I am not sure of this athletes name and I am sorry the picture is blurry but it was hard to capture after dark. One of the last athletes in was the man whom had lost both legs and one arm. What an inspiration and accomplishment.

Live footage of the final finishers, you talk about a party...
All of those who started the run finished this year before the 12 midnight cutoff.
Simply amazing!

Patti & Floyd and our loot from the "swag".
Thanks for letting us park in your space Floyd!

What an amazing day!
