Surfing in Hawaii

OK, this is kind of funny! Many of you know that my mom broke her are while surfing in Hawaii over Thanksgiving, well, not really she tripped on a curb. Mom got home about 10 days ago and she was due to get her cast last Monday. So I took her in and they did the x-rays and then proceeded to put her cast on. Mom was not pleased with the first cast because it was too tight so the nurse tried to cut it to give her some room. That was still no good so they cut the cast off and put on another one.









Tuesday went by without a hitch, mom was complaining a bit but what is new right? Well Tuesday night mom proceeded to cut her cast off with toenail clippers. Yes, that is right. It took her two hours. She called me in the morning and we were headed back to the hospital. The Dr. was even amazed.

So, now we are to cast number 3, mom was still not comfortable with this cast. The Dr. almost sent her to get a splint but we thought we would try the cast one more time. Well, Thursday rolled around and no good. Back to the Dr. to cut the cast off and since it was so last it would be back to the Dr.'s office Friday morning to make the splint.

Needless to say this put me over the top! It was a rough week.
