Blue Skies over Genoa

A cool breeze swept through Genoa today as I was jogging from the apt to the ocean. By the time I arrived back home the skies were clearing and a very blue sky was peaking out of the big fluffy clouds. We don't see very many fluffy clouds in Kona so it was a treat.
Patti and I made our first trip to the ospedale about 12:30 and arrived just in time for visiting hours. Len had been moved over to the window( a coveted spot) and had a nice view of the sky and the tops of houses in the area. He was a little quiet and fell asleep a lot during our visit. Our visit was also cut short by some other activity in the room which meant we had to leave and wait outside.
We stopped for a cappuccino and then headed back to the apt for a couple of hours. We returned for our 6:45 visit with a promise from Dr. Silvia to visit Len's room and give us an update. On our way to the ospedale we also received a call from Father Antonio saying that he had visited Len in his new room and had prayed with him. He would try to catch up with us another time. He ask after Lynnette and Patti. What a kind man.
Len was more awake on this visit and had been turned so he could look out the window. Patti got him to stick out his tongue while we were there which we both found very amusing(we were told to keep it down). We talked with him a while and I got another kiss but had to climb on a chair to reach Len's face. Now that would have been a great photo! Dr Silvia came over from ICU and talked to us a while about how Len is progressing. They had done a CTscan today and it looked good. She is going to make arrangements for us to see the attending physician hopefully tomorrow. While Silvia was there, Len raised his right arm just to say to her "I'm here and getting better"
We are very thankful to Dr. Silvia and the staff in ICU. They have done a wonderful job and have taken great care of Len.
It is almost 11pm here so I say Bona Notte

Love,
