Long night!
Dad & Sue arrived in SJ around 10PM & made it to the hospital by
10:45PM (ambulance didn't expect them that early, so they had to
wait at the airport for a bit. They brought Dad into his new room &
the new patient coordinator who I had been speaking with for the
last two weeks showed up at 1045PM (she worked 6AM to 2PM)
because she was so involved in dad's case she wanted to be
there (how comforting is that!) Dad was sleeping as he had been
sedated for the flight (it was so good to see him!) All the nurses
came up & talked to Sue & I and told us what was going on as
well as the admitting Dr. I can only imagine how different this
must be from the Italian hospital. They have a full evaluation
planned with a member of each of the rehab team (speech, PT,
Dr, nurse, etc) to get a baseline to see where to start this morning.
Sue & I got home ~ 12:30AM or so & hit the sack!
